Administrator mode

Running the software in this mode allows certain more advanced features to be accessed

When run in administrator mode certain areas of the software can be customised or accessed. These are mainly concerned with making the software easier for users by restricting access to certain areas and by removing items from menus etc that a standard user does not need.

This mode is activated by running with a command line option set when running the software (contact your distributor to find out how to do this) or if the software is protected by a "master" key.

When in administrator mode the following can be achieved : -

The "Modify menus" menu item can be removed so that users are no longer able to modify menu items therefore protecting any menu settings an administrator may have set up.

When restoring a back-up file where "Include additional MPRs" has been selected the program needs to be in Administrator mode to be able to restore the additional MPR files as they can be system critical and this is a feature that should only be used by advanced users (typically technical support or system administrators.)

For user profiles when in Administrator mode the program is able to unlock locked user directories as well as reset user passwords.

Also administrators are now able to hide individual parameters in the following parameter files System, edging and machining centre ones. In administrator mode, any of the system parameters can be hidden from the pages by right clicking on a parameter. This will bring up a popup menu with the following options:

Hide parameter

Show all parameters on page

Hide parameter will hide the parameter and if it is the last visible parameter in a group, the group box will also

be hidden. These settings will be stored and reused every time the system parameters in the user profile are

accessed.

In administrator mode, any of the pages in the system, edging or machining centre parameters can be hidden.

This is done by selecting the Modify parameter tabs settings option (on the View menu of the main menu) and selecting the tabs that need to be hidden.

Use the "See Also" button for more details on these areas.
