Using Multiple woodStore stores - Overview

SC module required.

Applies when using woodStore as the board database.

The databases for multiple stores are held on one SQL server instance. Within each database, user defined functions may be created to aggregate the contents of two or more databases and filter on full sheets, automatic offcuts and manual offcuts etc.

Multiple woodStore databases, with optional user defined functions, are entered into the System parameters (Stock control tab).

The current store can be changed from the Stock menu (Change current store), the Stock toolbar (Current store button) and in the System parameters.

All subsequent board library operations use the currently selected store.

The current store is indicated by an information panel on the main menu backdrop.

The panel may be resized and repositioned in the same way as the main information panel.

If the two information panels overlap, the current store information panel appears on top of the main panel. The appearance of the panel is controlled by the ‘Modify information panel’ dialog (Multiple stores tab).

The current store is also indicated on the dialog bar of the Part list editor and batch screens.

Notes

When using multiple stores, some restrictions apply, since the databases and user defined functions can aggregate stock across several databases.

Stock reservations are not supported:

- Reservation reports and options are no longer available on the stock menu and toolbar.

- Automatic reservation during optimisation is disabled.

Other restrictions:

- Material pictures are not supported

- Bin information fields are blank
