Split waste

Saw parameter to set how boards are cut

Use this parameter to choose how waste is divided, for example:-

No split waste

Split waste - Rips only

Select an option at the list box

None - do not split waste

Rips only - split waste on rips only

Rips, crosscuts and recuts - split waste on rips, cross cuts and recuts

Usually all waste is removed at the front of the board or strip and the program draws patterns to show this arrangement but it is sometimes useful to choose to split the waste evenly between the front and rear of the board or strip which can make it easier to manage waste pieces and ensure they drop into the waste trap.

If the parameters for minimum or maximum size of last cut are also set these are taken into account when splitting waste. In some cases this means that the waste is not split evenly between the front and rear of the board or strip.

For 'rips, crosscuts and recuts' this also applies to the waste in a strip and to patterns with head cuts. In a pattern with a single head cut the waste is split evenly over the main and head portions of the board.

For Recuts, if the rear recut trim is zero and the front recut trim is non zero, waste is not split between the front and rear. Any other combination of settings results in waste being split.
