Saw parameter to set the speed of a rip saw
When moving forward to take a rip cut the saw carriage travels at a speed set by the sawyer. Enter this time as the forward speed.
The saw carriage moves at maximum speed when it returns to the starting position after taking a cut. Enter this as the return speed.
This time is used to calculate the time of each cut so it is important to enter an accurate time.
Enter a value for ripping in each field. Specify the speed in metres per minute (or feet per minute if you are using Imperial measurements). This value is the speed of the saw for the ripping operation where you do not have separate saws.
Faster operation with small books - for this option enter the values for faster times at tab: Speeds and Times 2 unless set as a Material parameter then enter it in the 'Small books' box
Notes
- Can also be set as a material parameter at both board and material level
- The Return speed is NOT used for Faster operation with small books
