Time for drawback

Saw parameter to allow time for drawing back a set of strips ready for cutting

Time for the drawback of a set of strips so that they are positioned ready for crosscutting.

A set of strips is a group of strips that can be crosscut together. Each set has to have identical crosscuts and the number of strips in the set is determined from the positions of the clamps in relation to the width of the various strips.

This applies mainly to single saws (as shown in the diagram) and also to some operations on an angular saw, for example, where a staggered head is further divided at the crosscut saw.
