May occur during Restore
The program cannot restore a backup that was created in a later version of the program. The restore is cancelled.
There are several causes.
- Restoring from a later version with an older version of the program
- The computer has restricted access to the hard disc (typically c:)
Each user must have full read/write access to their local computer (for example, drive C:). This is because the program sometimes has to store temporary data on the computer. This must include access, for example, to the Windows temporary directories and not just the directories where the optimising program and data are stored. In this case a temporary file could not be created and this prevented the program from getting the correct version number of the software.
- Check the back-up data directory
- Check the read/write access for the drive on the local computer
