Attention.gif Cannot Back-up - too many files

May occur with the Back-up option

There are too many files to back-up. This typically means there are a very large number of files (typically more than 60,000) of one type in the 'Path for data'. The file type is indicated by the file extension, for example, PRL (part lists), CTT (cutting lists), PTN (runs / optimisations). These three file types are the most likely causes of this problem.

The only way to solve this problem is to significantly reduce the number of files. Make sure to use 'File Management' for this to ensure critical files are not accidentally removed.

(One way of relatively quickly dealing with excess files is to archive runs (optimisations); the runs can be archived to a different directory and the archive process compresses a lot of files associated with a run into a single file.)

The full list of file types involved are:  PRL, CTT,  BRD, PTN, PCT, PC2, DST, EDG, SIM, BTC, REQ, SOP, XBD, SPM, PRM

This message also occurs if there are a large number of any other files (regardless of extension), for example, excess picture files (jpg, bmp, gif ...) or report files (RLF, MON, PLT, TLF ...)
