Saw parameter to set a lower limit for the amount of material to allow for clamping
This parameter describes the minimum size of material that can be clamped with one and with two or more fingers of the clamp.

Small books
The values for the minimum size of material that can be clamped are often larger when cutting a low number of boards (small book).

The 'small book' values are only used when the following saw parameter is set:

Notes
The important factor in whether material is adequately clamped or not is the amount of contact between the material and the fingers of the clamps. This amount varies with the strip width. For a very narrow strip only partial contact with one finger may be sufficient to clamp the material (for example, 1mm (1/16 in.) of contact). The value for the minimum size of 1 finger clamping should specify the upper limit of widths that can be partially clamped by 1 finger, for example, 50mm (2 in.).
For strips wider than the minimum size for 1 finger clamping at least one full finger of contact is required but for the widest strips this may not be sufficient and at least two fingers of contact are required. The minimum size for 2 finger clamping should specify the width that has to be clamped by 2 or more fingers, for example, 500mm (20 in.).
The program does consider all the clamps because, in some cases, a strip or part may be held by fingers on two different clamps. That is, if a strip must be help by at least two fingers those fingers can be on different clamps; this allows for a greater variety of strips to be crosscut together.
Single finger clamps
If a strip is wide enough to require two fingers of contact it must be held by two different clamps.
