Min size of last set of strips

Saw parameter to set a limit on the final group of strips

This is a parameter for Angular saws to control the minimum width of the last set of strips.

After each set of strips has been ripped the program fence pushes forward a distance of about 300mm (11.75in) and then draws back and positions for the next rip. The push forward separates the set of strips and moves the strips so that the cross transfer cylinders can be raised to transfer the strips to the crosscut saw.

An error occurs in this process if the final set of strips is less than about 300mm wide. This happens because the push forward for the last but one set of strips causes the program fence to move past a limit switch which indicates to the saw that the last cut has been made.

The software deals with this by rearranging the strips or moving waste to the rear of the board.

You should set this parameter to the value needed for your machine (which is usually about 300mm (11.75in))

If the sum of the last set of strips and the waste for the Minimum size of last cut is more than 300mm the limit switch is not reached and the problem does not occur.

For this calculation only it is assumed that the maximum width of a multiple crosscut is greater than or equal to 9999.9 mm, that is, all checkerboard strips are cut together. This does not affect the calculation of cutting times and cutting dimensions where this parameter is taken into account.
