Preference for fuller books

Allows users to configure their preference for cutting parts in fuller books.

Use this option to configure the optimiser to favour solutions with fewer saw cycles (and patterns) by creating patterns that can be cut in stacks of multiple sheets. The optimisation starts by looking for appropriate patterns that can be cut as full books so please ensure that the maximum cutting height is set correctly.

When optimising with a preference for fuller books it is expected that the overall waste and cost of a run could be higher than when optimising without a preference but the number of saw cycles (and possibly patterns) will be lower.

Notes

- Owing to the complexity and non-linear nature of the optimisation algorithms that sometimes individual results may not always follow the expected direction.  Over a statistical sample of jobs then the effects of the slider will be seen clearly.

- This feature is only available with the PO Professional Optimiser module

- To obey a preference for fuller books please use the 'Automatic selection', 'Small quantity optimiser', 'Medium quantity optimiser' or 'Medium quantity optimiser (II)'. Also, the 'Create crosscut patterns only' should not be set.

- The limit on the 'Max open parts' cannot be obeyed when a 'Preference for fuller books' is set. If the user chooses to continue to optimise, the data will be optimised with no limit on open parts.

- Part priorities cannot be used when a 'Preference for fuller books' is set. If the user chooses to continue to optimise, the data will be optimised without obeying part priority.
