How the transfer of grain match patterns in controlled
When patterns with grain matched parts are transferred to a saw or a machining centre how the transfer process works is set by the Properties of each grain match template (Main screen - Pattern library - select template - File - Properties)
The options are:-
Create master part - divide at saw
Create master part - divide at machining centre
Cut parts in main pattern
Cut parts in separate pattern
If a template pattern / master part is set as divide at machining centre the instructions for the pattern and the machining of the parts in the pattern are transferred to the machining centre as a single file. This means the template can be divided and each individual part is machined in a single operation.
Parts in other patterns are transferred as drawings for each part in the usual way.
Drawing names - the drawing names are based on a unique number which is generated when the drawings are transferred to the machining centre. An information box stores this number for each part.
Pattern files - If the run number is a 5 digit number then the nested pattern files are named as run number + pattern number. e.g. 01234003 = run 01234 - pattern 3.
Notes
- For appended template patterns the drawing (including the machining instructions for each part in the template is associated with large / master part created for the template).
