Optimising parameter to consider waste on grained boards in both orientations
The program classifies waste as either offcut or scrap by comparing its dimensions to the minimum offcut dimension parameters (Length, Width and Area).
Where a board has grain, offcuts are recorded in the orientation which matches the grain direction. Waste is only recorded as an offcut if it reaches the minimum offcut dimensions in the orientation that it appears on the pattern. This means that some large areas of grained waste may be marked as scrap.
In some cases, the grain direction of an offcut is not important, only the overall size. In this case, ensure that this parameter is checked.
Notes
- Grained offcuts which only exceed the minimum offcut dimensions in rotated orientation appear in the offcut list in the orientation shown on the pattern.
- Can also be set as a material parameter at both board and material level
