Parameter for the core length and width of a part
This box calculates and stores the core length and width for each part. The core length and width are the sizes of the part minus the edging.
A part may be trimmed before edging is applied (core trim) to ensure a straight edge. Edging is then applied to the trimmed edge. In the above example a solid piece of timber is added to the edge and edge tape applied (for example in door construction).
Core size = finished size - edging
Cut size = core size + core trim
The format is length x width or width x length depending on the setting of the system parameter: Order of dimensions for parts
Waste for core trim - If this information box is set the program also calculates the area of material (waste) due to the core trim and this is shown on the Management Summary. The area of the core trim is:-
core trim (length) x part width + core trim (width) x part length
The volume of the core trim is core area x part thickness.
