Running the program for the first time
To start the program:-
Select
the program icon on the Desktop
or
● Run the program with the Windows START option
When the program runs a 'Splash' screen is displayed. After a few moments the program moves automatically to the: Main screen. The Main screen is the 'home base' of the program - all options are available from there.
Look at the 'How To' or 'Overview' topics for an introduction to each section of the software. To see how to enter a part list and produce cutting patterns look at the section: Optimising Overview
Click on the See also button below for a list
of useful starting topics
Demonstration Data
Example data is included at Installation. This is typically the default directory for a new start up. The program shows a list of User profiles set up in the Demo data (typically 2 or 3)
(Once a User profile has been selected that profile is opened automatically when the program is used again. To see all the User profiles select: File - User profiles).
● Select one of the Demo data User profiles (e.g. Demo user 1)
OK - to move to the part list
From the File tree at the left open the Part list branch select any Part List
- Double click to open the part list
If the message appears: Patterns exist - significant changes will delete patterns
- Select OK to continue (we are going to regenerate the patterns anyway but without making any changes)
Select
the optimise button
This creates a set of cutting patterns (called run or optimisations) - when the optimisation is finished the program shows the 'Management Summary' for that run
- Use the navigation buttons and menu options to look at the summaries and the cutting patterns on screen.
Notes
- If the main screen does not appear the program is not running correctly - usually because the security key was not recognised or could not be found. Check the key and try again
- With a Single user key only one instance of the program can run at any time on the same computer. With a Network key more than one instance of the program can run at any time on the same computer. Each instance takes up a Network licence.
