Specific machining centres
Transfer machine instructions to a Morbidelli machining centre using their ASCII file format.
Security key - The software calls the ASPAN software; this means that you need to have both security keys present. Insert the ASPAN key first and then insert the security key into the back of the ASPAN key.
ASCII file details - The ASCII format file is described in the Morbidelli manual for the ASPAN software. This is in an appendix called Aspan Technical Guide and the chapter is headed ASCII IMPORT FILE FORMAT.
Tool number
T=03
Enter the tool number. This can be any set of numbers to suit your machining centre.
Depth in horizontal plane (Z)
Z=10
Enter the depth for a horizontal operation (e.g.: a horizontal bore).
Enter the all Z distances in the part drawing measured from the top of the part.
If a machining centre usually references from the bed of the machine (or bottom of the part) the program automatically adjusts the Z value to account for this. For example, if the instruction is Z=6 when transferring to the a machine referencing from the bottom this is interpreted as:-
Z=part thickness - 6
If no depth is given it is assumed to be thickness/2.
Exclude instructions
T=X
Use this to exclude an instruction from the machining centre. Some users find it useful to filter out certain machine instructions during the transfer of information to the machining centre. For example you may want the drawing to show all the instructions but only some of the operations are not carried out on the machining centre.
Enter this for each instruction that you want to exclude. This can apply to an individual instruction or a group.
Note that there is also an instruction T=CAD to send instructions only to the CADmatic Saw. This implies T=X and you do not need to specify both instructions.
If T=X applies to all the instructions for a part then no machine instruction file is produced for that part.
Other tool box operations
There are some extra tool box functions which give you control over other aspects of the machining centre operations.
FR= width of route path
CS= Countersink depth (0 if not counter sunk)
PR= Protrusion depth of dowel (No dowel = 0)
AN= Angle of groove
DR= Direction of router (circle only - default anti clockwise)
0 - anticlockwise
1 - clockwise
