Saw parameter to set the cutting height
Enter the maximum cutting height (book height) in millimetres or inches (depending on the measurement mode setting).
The maximum value depends upon the saw.
For some materials you may want to cut less than the maximum saw cutting height. You can set a value against each material in the Board (material) library to do this.
The program uses the cutting height to calculate the number of cycles for each run. For example, if the maximum cutting height is 75mm (3-3/4 in.) and the material thickness is 15mm (3/4 in.) the maximum number of boards per cycle is 5. Hence for a run quantity of 18 boards, 4 cycles would be required (3 at 5 high and 1 at 3 high).
A values of 0 is taken as a maximum book height of 1 board.
Notes
- Can also be set as a Material parameter at both board and material level.
- This can also be set as a material parameter. It is sometimes necessary for operational or technical reasons to limit the maximum cutting height but still use the material parameters. In this case if the value is set in the material parameters to 999mm or 99in this means 'use saw parameter value'.
- Value in the Board library for 'Book height' (number of boards) is still used when calculating max cutting height.
