Using pattern library for templates

 

Create and store templates for grain matching

 

A template is a fixed arrangement of parts (like a small pattern). Templates are created and stored in the Pattern Library. Whilst the arrangement of parts is fixed the actual part sizes are not. For example, a template for 3 drawer fronts in a vertical arrangement can deal with drawer fronts for any size.

 

The example below shows some typical templates:-

 

 

A blank 'board area' is shown.

 

Use the Add parts option to enter part sizes

 

 Enter the part size and the quantity in the length and width etc in the usual way

 Select OK to add the part to the pattern

 

The usual pattern editor options are available for creating and editing a pattern.

 

On save - enter a unique code for the pattern and select the type of pattern.

 

Type of pattern - use the pattern properties to set the type of pattern. Template patterns must follow some rules and there are several properties to set (see topics below)
