How to get ready for part costing
To use the full part costing make sure that the following are set.
- Information boxes for user-defined operations
The other items that need to be set are:-
- Machine rates parameters
- Part library (add times for user defined operations)
- Part drawings (machining)
- Machine centre parameters
- Edging library
- Edging parameters
- Saw parameters
At it's simplest part cost is the material cost of the part after optimisation so the part costing report can be produced without a full set up - so it is best to gradually investigate and add in the above items one at a time, as required, making sure that the costings are correct.
