Guide bars - forms and labels

The guide bar is a vertical or horizontal line to place across the form in any position

At the Designer screen:-

 Select: Tools - Guide bar

or

Select the Object Toolbar option

The guide bar appears - use the cursor to position the bar

Click on the design area - near the left hand edge for a horizontal guide bar - near the top edge for a vertical bar. Use the mouse to move the guide bar to the location you require and click to confirm (you can fix an exact position with the Properties box). This can then be used to align objects, such as column headings, against the line.

This ensures that the objects align accurately and if the guide bar is moved all the objects aligned with the bar move with it.

The guide bar is only visible at the design screen.

The guide box is shown as a dotted or dashed line. When the guide bar is selected it is shown as a dotted line.
