Transfer to SCM Master S - set up

How to set up the system to transfer data to an SCM saw - Master-S

This is for the saw model: SCM with Master-S controller

System parameters

- Make sure the system is set to create data for cutting dimensions (see System parameters)

Saw Transfer parameters

- Set up an entry for the saw in the list. The parameter values to set are as follows.

Transfer mode - set to: 10 - SCM Single

Path for saw data - can be any directory. This is the location of the SCM '900' files. Reserve the folder for the Master-S files (extension 900) as the directory is cleared of all the '900' files before each transfer.

Saw parameters

Set Saw model number to: 61 - SCM

Optimising parameters

Set the following parameters:-

Recuts - Multiple equal

Head cuts - None

Override trims - No

Load board in either orientation - Yes

'900' files

The '900' files are based on the run number (or name) for each run in the batch and the System parameter: 'Group number'. Runs that result in more than 99 programs are split into two or more '900' files as 99 programs is the limit for the controller.

Part list  Run No.    900 files             Patterns  Programs

TEST       00001    00001G01.900               1-30      1-30

LARGE      00002    00002G01.900               1-99      1-99

                    00002G02.900             100-133     1-34

The program comment field in the '900' file is filled out with the following information.

Run number

Pattern number

For example, pattern 10 in run 00001 would have the comment:-

%1

NRun:00001-10,N2440,N1220,N16,N0,

The sequence section in the '900' file contains only the number of 'repetitions' (cycles) rather than the pattern run quantity. Therefore the comment field of the sequence section is used to indicate the pattern run quantity and book height:-

%100

NBoards:100 Book: 7,

Transferring '900' files to the Master-S controller

The saw supplier provides software to allow '900' files to be transferred to the saw controller. This is a batch file (WRITEPRG.BAT) which is created when the software is installed. To transfer a '900' file to the controller simply enter at the DOS command line.

WRITEPRG <filename>

For example:

WRITEPRG 00001G01.900)

The current software from the saw supplier works under DOS so your computer must be restarted in DOS mode before running WRTPRG.BAT from the command line.

Short rip patterns (boards turned first) are supported.

Multiple recuts (Z-cuts), added with release 3.00 of the controller, are supported.
