Size of waste flap - Multi-axis saws

Saw parameter to set waste flap sizes

Use this to specify the size of the waste flap for a saw. The values are for the head saw, rips saw and crosscut saw (as appropriate) on a system with multiple saws.

The arrangement of waste flaps varies for an angular saw. Single saws and crosscut saws do not always have waste flaps as an operator can offload waste manually.

A Waste flap sizes of '0.0' means 'no waste flap at this saw'.

This is the maximum size for a waste dimension to fall safely into the waste trap. Waste pieces are cut to this size (or less for the remaining waste piece)

Waste strips - use the saw parameters: Width of packing strips and Min length of packing strips to determine how the saw divides the waste, for example, into waste strips that fall through the flap or into convenient sized strips for packing.

The application of the waste flaps rules for each cut depends on which saw the cut is taken at.

Angular saw (saw models 5, 7, 11, 22)  - Head cutting (and all further division of heads) occurs at the crosscut saw.

Three-saw system with offset head saw (saw model 24) - Head cutting and all further division of the head is done on a separate saw observing the waste flap for head saw.

Angular saw with turntable (saw model 25) - Head cutting and ripping is done at the rip saw with all other operations at the crosscut saw.
