Using an information box at Part list to control destacking
Usually parts of the same type (e.g. same length, width and material) are destacked at the same station. However in some situations it is useful to allow parts of the same type to be destacked at a secondary station. For example where a pattern produces a large quantity of one part type which exceeds the capacity of a single station.
To do this use the Information box: Use secondary station
• If this information box is not included in the list of information boxes for each part use the Information box parameters to allocate this box to the list (Parameters - Information boxes)
• At the part list set the value of this parameter to '1' for each part that is allowed to be destacked at a secondary station.
The extra station a part is destacked to is called a 'Secondary station'. This station is chosen automatically by the program and the number of the station used is shown on the Destacking Summary and on the Destacking picture for each part. There is a maximum of one secondary station for each part type.
Capacity of a station - this is the destacking height (in terms of the number of pieces) multiplied by the number of stacks in the destacking picture. For example a 2 x 2 layout with a destacking height of 25 gives a station capacity of 100 pieces.
Clearing stations - The program assumes that the secondary station is cleared between each pattern and the secondary station is available for use in the usual way for the next pattern. If there are no free stations available then the secondary station is not used.
Example - Pattern 1 produces 120 pieces of Part A and is destacked to station 1. Station capacity for part A is 100 pieces.
Without using a secondary station then Station 1 would need to be cleared to destack the remaining 20 pieces of Part A from Pattern 1.
With using a secondary station the remaining 20 pieces of part A can be destacked to a secondary station (if one is free) and the delay due to clearing Station 1 is avoided.
