Small parts pass routing - thickness

Machining parameter to set the amount of material left after a first small pass rout

mct1465-01.png

Enter the thickness of the material left after the rout for the first pass in small part pass routing.

Typically only a relatively small amount (e.g. 2-3mm) is left for the final pass.

On the first small part pass the rout does not cut through the material and a second rout is used to finish the cut. For smaller parts this helps to keep the part firmly held by the Vacuum table.

This value can be overridden by Material parameter settings.

The thickness can be either a fixed value or a formula where Z is used to reference the thickness of the material.

A formula value needs to start with a = character (e.g.  =Z/4  or  =Z-0.2)

Notes

- Can also be set as a Material parameter at material level.
