Set a minimum size for cutting a part
This box is used to determine whether a part is too small to cut individually in a pattern. If one of the part dimensions is less than the specified dimension a 'master' part is inserted in the cutting list. The size of the master part is calculated so that it is large enough to cut as one part and can be divided into two or more of the original parts, for example, on a cross cut saw or at a Machining centre.
If this Information box parameter is set the check is made and master parts created (if necessary) as the Cutting list is created.
In the example below the minimum size is set to 200mm. Part A 620.0 x 120.0 cannot be cut individually. A master part is created of size 620.0 x 244.8 and inserted in the cutting list.
The master part has the same name as the original part followed by a '/' and the number of original parts in the master part, e.g. A/2
A template pattern containing the original parts is appended at the end of the optimised run. The template patterns have no trims and the saw blade thickness is the same as the main pattern(s).
Note - If both part dimensions are smaller than the minimum cut size it cannot be cut in a pattern and the quantity required is set to zero.
