Summaries - Machining - Overview

Preparing and sending data to a machining centre

Machining Interface module only

Where a run contains parts with machining data (routing, drilling, grooving etc) the machining instructions for each part can be sent directly to a machining centre. In some cases some or all of the boards are divided at the machining centre and not at the saw - this cutting information can also be sent directly to a Machining centre.

Use the following options in Review runs to review the machining data (machining drawings) and make last minute changes where necessary.

At the Review runs screen:-

 Select: Summaries - Machining Preview

or

 Select: Summaries - Machining Drawings

Double click on a machining drawing to move to the machining editor to edit a drawing. At the Stacked ToolBar there is also an option to edit machining drawings: Machining Editor

MPR(X) files - where the part drawing is based on an MPR(X) file then the WoodWop program (if installed) is used to edit the machining drawing and not the Machining editor.

Sizes - The part drawing in the Machining library used for a part is typically set up parametrically so that drawing varies as the size of the part varies. When editing a drawing in a run (produced after optimising) this does not affect the library drawing and the machining editor works on the drawing created for that run - so all the sizes (for drilling, routing ...) are the fixed sizes calculated for that specific part.

(These options are also available on the Stacked Toolbar).
