Option to edit MPR(X) variables at the part list
MPR(X) Variables are the items in the Variable block of an MPR(X) file. This is the block that starts with the text: [001 These variables can be edited at the part list. To enable this option, make sure that the Part list parameter: Drawing source is set to MPR(X) and the Drawing option on the part list View menu is checked.
The part drawing for a part (if any) is displayed when a part list record is clicked on or moved to. The list of MPR(X) variables is shown at the right of the part drawing.
● Enter the new values in the column shown
● Select OK to confirm the changes
The new values are used when creating MPR(X) files during optimisation and are passed to the Machining centre.
To restore the original value, delete the value and leave the field blank.
Notes
- Variable names and comments cannot be modified.
- There is no limit placed on the number of MPR(X) variables or the length of the variable name / answer. Variables are assumed to be free-format text.

The variables section begins ‘[001’and is terminated by another section start marker (one of ‘[]$>’).
Certain variables have a fixed meaning:
L="3050.00" Length
B="1220.00" Width
D="18.00" Thickness
KM="" Comment
The length, width and thickness are determined by the cutting list – these are not displayed.
The actual variables used to represent dimensions are defined by the Machining centre parameter: Dimension names for viewing MPR(X) files
- Overridden variables are reflected in the drawing and stored against the part
- Some MPR(X) variables are private or not enabled; these are not shown
