Separate pusher for single saws
The Power Concept device acts as a separate pusher (program fence); this allows the saw to crosscut two sets of strips with different crosscuts at the same time; reducing the overall cutting time. The device is located next to the angle fence.
The first few clamps on the main program fence are retractable; they can be raised up out of the way. This allows the device to push wider sets of strips.
Use the Saw parameters (Clamps) to set up the device.
The results of the calculations can be seen on the pattern display in Review runs: strips cut together are indicated by staples in the usual way.
Notes
- When the device is enabled pattern strips are sorted to maximise the number of pairs of strip sets which can be cut at the same time. This sort also minimises the number of crosscuts. Applies to Saw model 21 only.
Transfer to CADmatic controller with PCD - Patterns containing template parts
When fitted with a Power Concept Device (PCD), the saw controller may re-sort the strips in a pattern to make the best use of the device. When a pattern divides a grain matching template the parts forming the template must remain in the same position relative to each other so the re-sort must be prevented. A modification to the CADmatic saw controller software may be required to fully implement this feature.
