Machining centre parameter to set how machining drawings are numbered

This setting changes how the machining centre parameter: Last drawing number is used when numbering machine drawings.

Select any of the radio buttons to set this parameter

Use drawing number

The default numbering and the Information box: Drawing name - transfer is set is that each drawing is numbered sequentially starting from the number in the machining centre parameter: Last drawing number

Last drawing number: 10010345

Use drawing number plus item number: blank

Drawing name - transfer (Information box parameters): set

Drawing number

10010346

10010347

10010348

This method can be inconvenient where runs are re-sent later because when the drawings are re-transferred they have different machining numbers as the Last drawing number value will have been changed by other runs. The last drawing number can be up to 8 digits for this option.

Use drawing number plus 4 digit item number

If this option is selected the numbering method is changed to be the last drawing number plus the item number from the part list.

Last drawing number: 3258

Use drawing number plus item number:

Drawing name - transfer (Information box parameters): set

Part item No    Drawing number

001                  32580001

002                  32580002

003                  32580003

This method is more convenient where runs change or are re-sent because when drawings are re-transferred the Last drawing number can be manually reset (e.g. to 1058) to reproduce the original drawing numbers. The last drawing number can only be up to 4 digits for this option.

Use drawing number plus 3 digit item number

Selecting this option the numbering method is changed to be the last drawing number plus the item number from the part list.

Last drawing number: 13258

Use drawing number plus item number:

Drawing name - transfer (Information box parameters): set

Part item No    Drawing number

001                  13258001

002                  13258002

003                  13258003

This method is useful if many transfer are made so that the last drawing number can be above 9999.  The last drawing number can be up to 5 digits for this option.

Notes

- When the Information box: Drawing name - transfer is NOT set there is an alternative numbering method using the Run number + the item number which has the same effect - but this method cannot be used where the Part list name is used as the Run number.

- An Information box is 'set' when the box is included (visible or hidden) in the current set of Information boxes for the Part list

- If separate front, back and horizontal files are generated then the first digit of the part drawing number will be removed.
