Optimising parameter to set a maximum size for offcuts
Only for CADmatic 3/4/5 saw model numbers 21-26
Where a cutting process produces a large offcut some saws cannot handle the offcut as it cannot be transported through the saw or easily removed from the saw.
This parameter sets a maximum value for the offcut size in the direction of the material flow. This allows a very large offcut to be cut down to a size that can be more easily handled. The offcut is cut down into one or more pieces at the value set. The remaining area is set as waste or a smaller offcut.
● Enter values as necessary for the headcut, rip and crosscut phases.
These values can be overridden by Material parameters.
Notes
- Can also be set as a material parameter at both board and material level
- Take care when setting the values as the resulting offcuts may be re-classified as waste if their sizes or area fall below the minimum offcut dimensions.
- Only integer values are allowed
- If values are set at the maximum values (default) the program does NOT cut down offcuts.
