By default the crosscut optimiser (or 'crosscut pattern only' option) cut each part from narrowest board available. This can be a problem if there is not enough stock for some board widths or the part does not fit the length of the narrowest board.

This parameter allows the use of a wider board width if there is not enough stock of the narrower board width or if a part does not fit in the length of a narrower board.

For example:-

Part list

Part    Length   Width  Qty

PRT/01   780.0   400.0   20

PRT/02   596.0   400.0   35

PRT/08  1210.0   400.0   10

PRT/09  2150.0   400.0   30

Board list

Board   Length    Width    Qty

BRD/101   1830.0   420.0   300

BRD/102   2440.0   600.0   200

By default all 4 parts use board BRD/101 as that is the narrowest board.

However, part PRT/09 does not fit in the length of BRD/101. When this parameter is checked PRT/09 can be cut from the wider board (BRD/102).

Notes

- Can also be set as a Material parameter at material level.
