Transfer to ABD/BHX200

Machining centre transfer parameter for Homag ABD/BHX200

This setting is for transfer to the Homag ABD/BHX200 machine.  With this option two MPR(X) files are created one for the ABD machining instructions and another for the remaining instructions. Check the box for transfer to Homag ABD/BHX200

Set up for transfer to Homag ABD

- For each drawing indicate which instructions are for the Homag ABD machine and which are not.

To do this:-

- Add the text BEK to the tool condition field at the Machining library drawing

- Set the ABD horizontal settings for dowel, glue, centre and inch for each instruction. These are also set in the tool condition field.

WP - Dowel value

WG - Glue value

C  - Centre value

I  - Inch value

For example:-

BEK;WP=1;WG=0;C=0;I=0

The above example means: 'Instruction sent to ABD machine, Dowel has a value of 1 and Glue, Centre and Inch have a value of 0'

Setup for transfer to Homag BHX200

- For each drawing indicate which instructions are for the Homag BHX200 machine and which are not.

To do this:-

In the horizontal instructions in the machining library the tool field needs a condition value that starts with BHX200 and has the following fields/values:

            DRILL

            DOWLENGT

            GLUETIME

            DEPTHDOW

            GLUE

            DOWEL

            MEASURE

So an example tool value might be:

?=BHX200;DRILL=1;DOWLENGT=0;GLUETIME=0;DEPTHDOW=0;GLUE=0;DOWEL=0;MEASURE=0

- Set the machining centre transfer parameters

Transfer type - set to:  8 - Homag WoodWop V4 > V8 (MPR/X)

Transfer to ABD/BHX200 - check this box (as above)

- Specify a macro file (no path or extension) at the 'Macro file' box  - this is an MPR(X) file (use the directory button to select a macro from a list)

Path for part drawings

Path for instructions - horizontal

- Enter paths for these parameters (make sure the paths are different)

Path for part drawings is used for the MPR(X) files containing non-ABD instructions and the Path for instructions - horizontal is used for the MPR(X) files containing ABD instructions.

On transfer to a machining centre two MPR(X) files are created for each part, the file names are the same but the files are located in the two different paths.

Notes

- The depth of horizontal drilling in the machining drawing is included in the MPR(X) drawing transferred to the machining centre (in ABD mode). This value is set via an MPR(X) variable called 'depth', the associated macro file must use the same variable name to define the horizontal drill depth.

Set up to transfer to ABD and BHX machines

Set up the machining instructions and determine those for the ABD/BHX200 machine (e.g. horizontal instructions) using the tooling rules (as above).

- Set up the pre-defined information box: Transfer name - horizontal

(Leave blank - do not enter a name)

- At Machining centre parameters - check the box: Separate file(s) for horizontal instructions

- At Machining centre transfer parameters - create a new transfer line and check both the boxes:-

Transfer to BHX500

Transfer to ABD/BHX200

Next to each of the above boxes there is a box labelled: Macro file

- Enter the name for the macro file in each case

- Set any other options for the BHX500 and ABD/BHX200 machines.

To transfer select the new 'Transfer option' (as set up above) from the Machine interface at the main screen.

During transfer two drawings (machining instructions) are created for each part one for the ABD/BHX200 machine and one for the BHX500. Whilst the ABD/BHX200 file typically includes the horizontal instructions (and that is what the file is called) it also contains any other instructions that were also set up for the ABD/BHX200 via the 'BEK' tooling code.
