Option at the main screen to convert old data in a single folder to the latest version
This converts data from an older to a newer version, for example, from an earlier version to V12. This option coverts all the data in a single folder. For converting user profiles (where the data may be spread over a set of linked folders) use the option 'Copy/Convert user profile'. At the Main screen:-
- Select: Tools - Copy / Convert folder
The program prompts with a dialog to enter the FROM folder and the TO folder (destination)
- Enter the location of the folder to convert in the FROM box
The program automatically works out the version of the data (override this if necessary).
- Enter the location of the destination folder in the TO box
The program creates the 'To' folder if it does not exist. It is best to transfer
to an Empty directory
- Select OK to confirm
Path for Board library
Where the data in the folder contains board (BRD) and pattern (PTN) files information from the board library is required to fully convert these files.
If these files are present the program prompts of the path of the Board library to use.
- Specify the path of the board library to use for this data.
This is typically the ‘Path for library data’ used with this data (the library may be common to several sets of data).
This can be identified by looking at the list of folders where the folder to be converted is located or from looking at the system parameters (paths) for one of the users using that data.
- Select ‘Convert’ to continue
(Choose ‘Ignore’ to not fully convert the board and pattern files).
The converted data can now be used in the new Version of the program (use the option:
Main screen - File - User profiles) to set up a link to the new data.
Notes
- FROM and TO folders must be different
- This option can also be used to copy files for the current version from one location
to another
