Fields used for import from an external database
When importing data from the external database the Board library uses a specified list of field names from the external database.

Boards Information
Extra information (Material Family - woodStore V8.13 and later versions)
- The Bin value is a space separated concatenated string of the bin locations of the Homag Automation database board. The value is truncated to 50 characters if it exceeds the Cut-Rite field width limit of 50. This field is left blank if there is no physical woodStore board at any location.
Note that the quantities of boards in the Bins can be displayed and are a snapshot of the quantities at the time. They are shown in the format <Bin number>(<Quantity>) with a space between Bins e.g.
100(12) 101(340)
To suppress the quantity, deselect the new system parameter ' Include board quantity in bin information' in the woodStore group (Stock control tab). This parameter is selected by default.
- The board library has a limit for board and material codes. If an imported board exceeds these limits the board is ignored.
- Fields are not linked to external fields are set to standard values
- Synchronisation is turned off during the import
- There is an option to delete all records first when overwriting stock - ensuring all available fields are imported from the current database.
- The program imports the default material parameter file name only when creating a new material, so it is set from the first record encountered for a new material.
- Colour and material description - The program interprets the 'Colour' field as the Material description so boards of the same material will have a single colour. The program imports this field only when creating a new material, so it is set from the first board encountered for a new material. Boards of the same material in the database may have different colours, but any boards which are edited by the program are converted to the colour stored in the material description field.
- 'Update / overwrite stock from file' also modifies board library records. These processes also potentially trigger synchronisation requests (with the exception of the new SQL board library import format).
- The maximum book height value is stored at material level. This means that the value is imported only for new materials.
- Minimum stock is not available in the System parameter ‘Fields used to update existing stock’. This means that the minimum stock is always imported from the SQL database (for new and existing boards).
- The density will default to 0.0 if any of the boards dimensions are zero.
- For metric systems the density is in tonnes per m3. For Imperial systems it is in pounds per ft3
Inches
The synchronisation / import of stock from the woodStore SQL stock database is also available in inches modes. The woodStore stock database stores dimensions in 1/1000". This may result in rounding errors when operating in fractional inches mode.
