Saw parameter to set whether the saw is fitted with a turning device
The turning device allows sets of strips to be rotated prior to crosscut.
When fitted with a turning device, a Homag/Holzma single saw (model 21), with a Power Concept Device, can crosscut the last checkerboard head strip with the first strip of the next block. This makes best use of the PCD and reduces the overall crosscut time.

Notes
In the example below the last strip in the head can be rotated and cut with the first strip of the next block.
The 'open staples' show the strips in different blocks that are cut together.
- The PCD with the saw pushers act as a split pusher.
- The cutting time simulation for such patterns typically shows one less checkerboard rip set and a longer crosscut time for the first set in main.
