Using Nesting templates

How templates operate for shaped nesting optimisers

Templates for nesting with shaped parts are set up in the Machining library by creating a rectangular area. However, when the template is used in a nesting pattern, for example for grain matching, the template area is the shaped area around the parts used in the template.

The rest of the area is available for parts not related to the template. This improves the packing of parts in the pattern.

Notes

The router template calculations ignore any safety contours defined for the component parts of a template. If data is optimised with safety contours defined for the component parts of a template the following warning is displayed:- Safety contour ignored in router template [33201]
