Optimising parameter to force production of crosscut only patterns
It is sometimes useful to ensure the regular optimisers (Automatic, Small quantity, Medium quantity I/II) produce crosscut only patterns. To work in this way check the box.
Crosscut only patterns
A 'crosscut only' pattern is typically a strip pattern where the parts are produced by crosscuts with a recut to trim the part to size.
This option can be used instead of selecting the 'Crosscut optimiser' where the control of the pattern layout requires a wider range of optimising parameters than is available for the Crosscut optimiser.
The optimising parameter: Allow part to be cut from multiple strip widths can also be used with this way of working.
Notes
- Can also be set as a Material parameter at material level.
- Fixed or variable Rip trims are not allowed (rip trim parameters are set to zero)
- The full width of the board is taken as the strip width when checking for valid recut trimming and recut processing
