Board pre-cut

Nesting Optimising parameter to allow for boards that are larger than the nesting table

Nesting Optimising parameter to configure boards to be automatically divided (pre-cut) into two sizes by the optimiser - where the stock board is larger than the nesting table the board has to be pre-cut (at a separate saw) into two narrower or shorter boards.

The program calculates the best position for the dividing cut based on the parts in the cutting list and produces a set of patterns to match this.

Users can configure to either pre-cut the board length or board width.

To use this parameter:-

- Enter values for the minimum and maximum

The maximum values represents the width/length of the nesting table. The minimum values sets a value for the smallest width/length a divided board can be (a divided board cannot be too narrow/short).

- Enter a value for the tolerance

This is an allowance for the saw blade thickness which divides the board and any extra trims that are taken on the divided boards (before they move to the nesting table).

The board summary in review runs shows how many boards at each size are required.

At the Board list enter a single stock board.

Operation

During optimisation the program automatically adds two boards to the list - these are the divided board sizes based on the analysis of the cutting list. The board codes are based on the original code.

Stock board:- CHIPBOARD-18MM/01

Divided board 1:- CHIPBOARD-18MM/01/A

Divided board 2:- CHIPBOARD-18MM/01/B

To NOT use this parameter set the Board pre-cut to 'None' or set the maximum to a large value. e.g. 9999.0

Notes

- Rectangular Nesting only

- The board list must only contain one material and one board size.

-  The minimum value must be less than half the original board width/length otherwise the original board cannot be divided into two boards which both obey the minimum value.

- The maximum value must be greater than half the original board otherwise the original board cannot be divided into two boards which both obey the maximum.

- The width/length of the second board is calculated by subtracting the width/length of the first divided board and the tolerance from the original board. For example:-

Stock board: 3660 x 2200mm

Board pre-cut - Board width

Min width = 1000mm

Max width = 1200mm

Tolerance  = 30mm

Divided board 1: 3660 x 1150mm

Divided board 2: 3660 x 1020mm
