Snap to object

Set the behaviour when placing a connector (3D Product)

Connectors can be placed in ‘snap to object mode’. In this mode the connector will be automatically positioned on the nearest instruction to the mouse cursor.

Snap to mode is turned on by pressing the snap to object button on the left hand side:

Connector

When a connector is placed on an instruction it inherits the instructions values. In this way if the dimensions of the part change then the connector will remain placed upon the instruction.

The connector also inherits repeated instructions offset and direction. This is, again, so they remain in place when a parts dimensions change. The repeat index of the instruction is also stored in the ‘Repeat index’ value. This means that the repeat index can be changed and the connector will automatically be placed over different repeated instances of the instruction.
