- Enter the maximum number of different (unique) parts within a strip.
As the number of different parts in a strip increases patterns get more complicated and take longer to cut but waste decreases. For many situations this parameter is not critical to the operation of the program so if in doubt about the setting leave it at the highest value.
This parameter is important for 'Crosscut only' operations because it controls the number of crosscut settings. On a small sliding table saw, for example, it may be an advantage to keep the number of crosscut settings to a low number to reduce setup time.
Quantity in main - enter a value for the main portion of the board
Quantity in head - enter a value for the head portions of the board
Vertical strips
Where the optimising parameter 'Vertical strips only' is set the 'Maximum unique parts per strip' value applies to the head strips running in the width direction, that is, as strips across the head portions of the board.
The head strips are sorted by 'largest cuts first' where this saw parameter is set.
