Pattern edit option to duplicate parts or sets of parts in a pattern
Only applies within a pattern. The usual Cut and Paste keys can also be used for copying and moving parts.
At the pattern editor:-
- Move to the required pattern
- Select a part
- Move the cursor to the area to copy the part to.
Select
the replicate option
or
Press the PLUS key
on the keyboard (at the numeric pad)
Replicate can be used with selected parts. It duplicates the selected parts at the new cursor position.
In some cases it is useful to insert a part between existing parts or strips. To do this change the action of replicate or copy by checking the box at the left of the screen:-
Copy / Insert between strips
The difference between Replicate and 'Copy and Paste' is that replicate does not require the selected strip or parts to be copied (Ctrl C). Also with replicate the selected parts is copied regardless of what part is left in the Windows clipboard buffer.
