Split a list into smaller lists
At Cutting list only
The most common splits are into lists with a common material code (single material code lists) or into lists with a smaller number of items (e.g. for transfer to a saw with a limited list capacity). At the Cutting list screen:-
● Select: Edit - Divide
The program displays the Divide dialog.
This shows a summary of the division based on the current settings, for example, a divide based on Material code.
● Select OK to confirm
Category - field (e.g. material, grain etc) to divide by
- click on list button to change category
Start with - defines root (5 characters) for new file names (for divided lists)
Save - name of the batch file to save the batch list to
Replace existing data - replaces all data in the batch if the batch already exists
Max no - maximum size of each list
To optimise a divided list
After Divide the program returns to the screen showing the original cutting list (the one that was divided). At the Cutting list screen:-
● Select: Optimise - Optimise batch
The program prompts with the list of divided files
● Select OK to confirm
The program prompts with the batch containing the divided lists
Notes
Divide part lists numbering
When the divided list names are set to use the original cutting list name followed by a sequential number the first 99 divided lists are appended with a two digit number and the divided lists thereafter are appended with a three digit number

- The 'Start with' box defaults to the cutting list name. Any prefix can be entered including a blank (no prefix).
