Patterns

 

Full screen view of each pattern in a run

 

At the Review runs screen:-

 

 Select: Summaries - Patterns

or

 Select the Toolbar option (Patterns)

 

 

At the foot of the pattern are a series of tabs.

 

Click on a tab to see other information about the pattern.

 

Pattern - pattern drawing

Parts - list of cut part sizes and other details

Cutting instructions - cutting instructions (only for some types of saw)

 

Saw simulation - cutting times and simulation of saw

 

If the program is set to use an external saw simulator extra information is shown for cutting times.

 

Use the Navigation buttons, Summaries menu or Stacked toolbar to browse the summaries. Many Review Runs options are also available on the Toolbar

Right click on a pattern to pop up the properties dialog for the part or area selected

Offcut labels

 

Offcuts are labelled in the same way as parts.

(In the pattern editor the offcut areas are not labelled until the patterns are saved).

 

The data shown and the picture format can be changed in 'Settings - Report settings'

 

 

Notes

 

Grain direction

 

- The chevrons on the pattern edge indicate the Board orientation. They point along the direction of the size shown in the LENGTH column of the part list.

 

- The grain direction (if any)  is shown by arrows at the foot of the pattern. These point in the grain direction.

 

Often the grain runs along the Length so that the board orientation and grain direction are the same but this is not always the case, especially for offcut sizes.
