Export run or batch of runs - details

ASCII or MDB export

ASCII - data is sent to file(s) in the directory set by the System parameter: Path for Export Data. The file name is based on the run number and report letter: e.g. 10023C.EXD.  One file per report. The format of the exported data is set by 'Review runs Report settings'

MDB - data is sent to an Access MDB database - one table per report. The MDB file is placed in the Path for Export data.

! . [ ]

Field names in MDB files cannot contain full stops, exclamation marks or square brackets. These are replaced during export with a 'space' character when setting up the field names.

Each column in an MDB table must have a unique name. This can cause problems where, for example, two information boxes have the same name. e.g.

Info box     Info box

25.62                   MDF18

Any repeated names are automatically re-named for the MDB file. For example, 'Info box' and Info box (2)'

Excel (XLS/XLSX)

The XLS/XLXS batch based file is named after the batch name and run file names are based on the run names.

e.g. A batch called 'WALL UNITS' containing 3 runs called 'WALL UNITS-01', 'WALL UNITS-02' and 'WALL UNITS-03' respectively.  The select summaries for the export are Batch, Job costing, Board, Part and Pattern summaries. This produces 4 XLS files.

1 file: 'WALL UNITS.XLS' with 2 sheets (batch summary, job costing summary)

3 files: 'WALL UNITS-01.XLS', 'WALL UNITS-02.XLS', 'WALL UNITS-03.XLS' with 3 sheets (Board summary, Part summary, Pattern summary)

Export settings

The export for each report can be customised to set the fields exported.

Export nested pattern drawings

Nested pattern drawings in machining library pattern format can be exported as images in BMP,WMF or EMF format. The files are named as follows:-

<runnumber>-<4 digit patternno>J.<extension>

e.g  00128-0002J.WMF

No export file is created when the nested pattern format is MPR(X).

Notes

- Export to an MDB file is not available when exporting individual summaries from the Review runs screen.

- Export Summaries to MDB with combination materials. If the 'Line' field is added to the list of fields to be exported this field is used as an index field in the MDB board summary table and the component boards are added to the MDB file. If the 'Line' field is not part of the export fields the 'No.' field is used for the index field and the component boards are not part of the MDB file.
