Details of group sizes
The group size depends upon the saw model:-
Saw model Addresses/program
4,9 (Compumatic) 10
8 (Digimatic) 4
7 (Compumatic I Angular) 35
For single saws a pattern can occupy more than 1 program; for angular saws there is 1 pattern per program. The number of programs in a group is:-
Saw model Programs/Group
4,9 (Module, Compumatic) 25
4,9 (Online PC, Compumatic) 50
8 (Digimatic) 25
7 (Compumatic I Angular) 10
A pattern may not be split over a group boundary.
Cutting Dimension storage - Cutting dimensions are stored in units called 'Programs' each containing several dimensions. Each set Programs is called a Group. A pattern may occupy one or more programs but is not split across two groups. Each module can contain a number of groups; stored in files. Each line of a program represents addresses. Each address may contain a dimension, the quantity (number of times that dimension is to be used) and a function code. The function code contains instructions to the saw and varies according to the saw model number. A pattern typically occupies one or two programs (more if there are any recuts), so a run containing 30 patterns can occupy a large number of programs.
