Board library / board list - pre-laminated material

Set up for Board library for Pre-laminated materials

Pre-laminated material is usually not treated as stock in the Board library because, typically, the combination boards are produced as required. However, it is useful to have an entry for the pre-laminated material code (=) in the library as the program can use this when creating a board list to select preferred sizes for the pre-laminated board.

If there is no entry the sizes of the pre-laminated board are set to zero in the board list and should be entered manually.

Normal stock material (e.g. core and laminates) should be stored in the Board library in the usual way.

The size of the composite (pre-laminated) board is often chosen at the last minute because the size of pre-laminated board depends on current stocks of core and laminate, the number of boards needed, and the re-use of any previous offcuts.

It is often useful for the working board list to contain a range of possibilities so more than one board size can be entered in the Board library. For example, if a particular laminate size is out of stock then some possible pre-laminated sizes cannot be used.
