Notes on various errors for the Online label PC
Error printing label - link to PC at saw
The cause of this error is usually one of the following:-
A missing or faulty label design template file (TLF). Make sure you transferred the latest design file and that it was sent to the correct directory.
Missing or faulty run files - make sure that the run is correct and has been optimised OK. Check the run via the run summary.
Incorrect part or off-cut item number. Check the run data.
Label request invalid
The instruction to print a label did not make any sense. Check for the problems above.
Label printer screen and saw communications screen
If there is a problem printing a label or with sending data to and from the saw (Compumatic and Topmatic) check the Label printer screen or Saw communications screen. These run as minimized applications on your Windows task bar. Each screen shows the communications between the Online label PC program and the printer or saw. Each message shows:-
Date, Time, Command sent/received, Status
If the status is OK then there is no problem and everything is working correctly.
Saw / Online PC path conflict - This error occurs when you select TRANSFER TO SAW and the path specified by the PATH FOR ONLINE PC is the same path as the path specified by the PATH FOR SAW DATA. These paths must be different.
Saw communication errors
These only apply when using a Compumatic or Topmatic saw controller. The messages are the communications between the saw controller and the Online label PC program.
Check with the saw supplier if problems persist and cannot be cleared by re-trying the operation. The supplier can check what the messages mean for the saw controller and help correct the problem.
It is always worth checking that run data is OK as faulty data can also cause apparent problems with the communications.
