Quotes/Orders parameter to set how pricing works
Quotes and Orders allows several methods of pricing - use this parameter to choose the method.
0 - Cost plus
1 - Price list
2 - Mixed cost plus/price list
Cost plus
The cost of an order is automatically calculated based on the cost of each item.
A percentage for Overheads and a percentage for Mark up can be added to the total cost of the order. These values are set in the Quote/Orders parameters and need to be set before the order is estimated.
Once an order is estimated the Totals dialog at the Quotes/Orders screen can be used to view the results. At this box the Mark up percentage can be changed and applies to all the items in the order.
Price list
Each product has a price which is stored in a memo field or the price field in the product library.
The estimate is based on this price and also takes account of any product and customer discounts on a per item basis. The discounts etc. are set in the Discount tables (Main screen - Parameters)
The Percentage values for Overheads and Mark up do NOT apply with this method.
Mixed
Products based on the price list method or the cost plus method can be in the same order.
An Overheads and a Mark up percentage can be used for those items in the order that use the Cost plus pricing method. The percentage values can only be set in the Quotes/orders parameters
Once an order is estimated the Totals dialog at the Quotes/Orders screen can be used to view the results. At this box the Mark up percentage cannot be changed.
Notes
The percentages for Overheads and Mark up are stored with the order and show the values used when the order was last estimated.
