Please note that the V11 Trial version does not include any CNC links, such as transfer to saw / machining centres, transfer of machining / nested patterns and linking to automatic storage systems. The main features of each trial area are listed below. Intro ----- Intro is aimed at the small workshop cutting wood or plastic sheet material on a panel or sliding table saw. * Magi-Cut Intro is capable of working in both metric and imperial sizes and can optimise a list of up to 10,000 pieces to be cut from a variety of mixed materials and sheet sizes. * Up to 99 items of information per part, including edging material can be entered or imported directly from spreadsheets (XLS(X) and CSV) using the import Wizard. * Material library including available stock of boards and offcuts - automatic issue of stock to jobs - grained/not grained. * Configurable summaries and exported files include parts produced, boards used, patterns required, offcuts produced, weights, and dashboard. * Printed patterns give clear cutting instructions for the operator of your panel or table saw. Patterns can also be exported as DXF files. * The edging summary lists total linear measure and cost of each edge material required for each job. * Extensive optimising and saw parameters with integrated help allows precise control of cutting patterns and these may be overridden by material specific settings. * Grain matched patterns for critical finishes such as cabinet doors. * Office based forms and label generation - 1D or 2D barcode support - Fully customisable form and label designs. Standard Optimiser ------------------ The Standard Optimiser is the entry level for Modular, designed for cutting batches of jobs on a single axis beam saw, where both material usage and cutting times need to be kept to a minimum. * Part lists (jobs) may contain up to 10,000 pieces - mixed materials - grain/cross grain or non-grained parts - metric or imperial sizes - required and plus/over parts. * An integrated part library holding details of size, material, grain, edging - part dimensions and other fields can be parametric - regularly used hardware components such as hinges, drawer slides etc can be held in the library with their costs. * Up to 99 user-defined fields of information per part including edging material can be entered or imported directly from spreadsheets (XLS(X) and CSV) using the import Wizard. * Cutting list rules based on user defined tables - numeric & string formulae - allows automatic cutting list adjustments ready for optimisation. * Integrated board library - holds material specifications, sheet sizes, cost, available stock, automatically records offcuts for later use. * Extensive optimising and saw parameters with integrated help allows precise control of cutting patterns and these may be overridden by material specific settings. * Grain matching - Position parts in defined templates within the cutting pattern to achieve a uniform veneer pattern. * The edging library holds description, thickness and cost of all edging and laminating materials - laminate size calculations can include trim allowance and special calculations for post formed and bull-nosed edges - detailed estimates of edge banding times and costs for single or double sided edge-banders. * High speed optimisation with multi-core processors; multiple jobs (up to 250) can be optimised in one batch. Minimum material cost with practical cutting plans. * Reports include management summary, material usage, cutting time, offcuts, costs, parts produced, waste% by pattern, weights. * Calculation of cutting time based on extensive saw settings and job costing summary showing full breakdown of production costs. * Configurable summaries, allowing choice of columns, fonts, subtotals with option for graphs and bar charts for management reporting. * Pattern display - thumbnail preview - show material texture or colour coding for recut parts and offcuts. * Saw Interface - transfer patterns or cutting instructions and where appropriate online printing data to your CNC-controlled saw - a wide range of formats for different saw types are supported - export of pattern exchange PTX, ASCII CPOUT or DXF file formats (Not included in the Trial version). * Office based forms and label generation - 1D or 2D barcode support - Fully customisable form and label designs. * Machining library holding fixed sized or parametric drawings, so sizes can be changed instantly - rectangular or shaped parts can be quickly drawn or imported from DXF files - support for many machining instructions - tooling information can be added for each operation - 3D view of parts including machining - direct transfer of data to most CNC-controlled machining centres via DXF and proprietary formats (CNC link not included in Trial version). * Import parts, boards and patterns directly via pre-defined import file formats e.g. (XLS(X) and CSV) and export optimised job summaries along with pattern exchange PTX files for transfer to third party applications and post processors. (Export of pattern exchange PTX files not included in Trial version). Professional Optimiser ---------------------- The Professional Optimiser has all of the features of the Standard Optimiser and is designed for higher volumes of cutting with larger beam saws or an angular saw plant. * The PO module handles up to 20,000 lines (part types) per optimisation, and up to 99999 pieces per line. * The optimisation is cost based and balances the increase in average cutting height and faster cutting time with the raw material used. * Parts can be grouped and a limit placed on the maximum number of pallet groups that can be open at one time. * Advanced parameters allow for parts to be assigned priority, and to limit the number of different board sizes used. * Free cut analysis - determines the optimum position to cut a jumbo board into two sizes subject to maximum specified length. * Extensive recut parameters allow you to minimise waste and provide additional processing with supported saws/hardware. * Mixed material stacks allows patterns that can be repeated in multiple materials (e.g laminates) to be used and sorted to the start of the run. * Additional extended recut, head cut and board combinations can be enabled and considered by the optimiser to further minimise waste. * Destacking & Palletisation - summary and station reports provide information ensuring parts can be placed on the correct pallets or baseboards - an advanced optimising algorithm obeys max station sizes when allocating parts to stations - cutting lists for baseboards are calculated from part sizes allowing for oversize allowance, layout constraints and max stacking height. Nesting Optimiser ----------------- The Nesting Optimiser will generate fast and efficient patterns for processing your rectangular and shaped parts and will download both routing and drilling instructions to your CNC router or nesting machine. * Nesting software considerations include board margins, part separation, shape rotation, off-cut criteria, waste cuts and small part placement. * An integrated part library holding details of size, material, grain, edging - part dimensions and other fields can be parametric - regularly used hardware components such as hinges, drawer slides etc can be held in the library with their costs. * Parts that need to be grain matched can be defined as a set using a template which is created using the machining editor. * Reports include management summary, material usage, cutting time, offcuts, costs, parts produced, waste% by pattern, weights. * Office based forms and label generation - 1D or 2D barcode support - Fully customisable form and label designs. * The rectangular nesting optimiser will determine the best size to pre-cut jumbo size boards that exceed the depth of the nesting table. * Stay down routing - parts on a pattern are routed in a continuous operation extending tool life and saving cutting time. * Tabs - the nesting optimiser can automatically leave tabs around small parts. * The nested pattern editor allows last minute changes to pattern quantity and the ability to add further parts or new patterns. * Where applicable horizontal machining and instructions for the back will be separated out and sent to an alternate specified path. * NE will determine the most efficient sequence for routing the nested pattern with minimum tool changes, and can process small parts first. * Common edge routing - edges of adjacent parts can be routed at the same time (when separated by the tool diameter). * Board pre-cut - determines the best division of boards that are larger than the nesting table. (XLS(X) and CSV) and export optimised job summaries along with pattern exchange PTX, DXF and MPR files for transfer to third party applications and post processors. (Export of pattern exchange PTX files not included in Trial version). Stock Control ------------- * The program helps you check stock levels, record raw material orders and book in receipts from your supplier. * The optimiser considers available free stock (physical stock less allocations) and automatically adjusts stock after cutting. * Configurable reports include stock valuation, minimum stock levels, monthly summary of stock usage and an audit trail of all stock movements. * It automatically updates both core material and laminate stock, when you laminate full sheets prior to cutting. * Interface to automatic storage handling systems for synchronization of full sheet and off-cut stock via SQL Server database (Not included in the trial version). Products & Quotes ----------------- * Customer database with full contact details, invoicing address, multiple delivery addresses, discounts and free-format notes field. * User defined product 'variables' take account of order-based requirements such as material colour and thickness, and hardware options. * Flexible form-designer allows tailor-made documents to include your company logo, pictures, barcodes with full control of font and positioning. * Use of formulae and user-defined tables enables automatic calculation of component sizes for special cabinets, and allows parametric pricing. * You can attach picture files (bmp, emf, jpg, wmf) or use Magi-Cut's own drawing library to add drawings to your product catalogue. * 3D products created in the product library can be printed on forms and labels. * You can obtain a picking list with the calculation of sundry part sizes such as solid lipping or bought-out items. * Import Product requirements and Quotes through pre-defined file formats.
