Time to turn strip

Saw parameter to allow time for rotating a strip ready for cutting

Applies to a single saw and to the further division of a staggered head on an angular saw

Enter the time taken to turn each strip and position it for crosscutting. The time is for each strip, not each set of strips, as each strip has to be handled individually.

 Enter a value in seconds (e.g. 1.2)

There is a separate parameter to set the time for turning a set of strips. Use these two values together to get a good estimate of the overall time.

See: Time to turn set of strips

Faster operation with small books - for this option enter the values for faster times at tab: Speeds and Times 2

Notes

- The program automatically deals with situations where the time is not required. In some instances the first set of strips can be turned whilst the saw is still ripping. This occurs if the cutting length of the saw minus the length of the board is greater than the width of the first set of strips. In this case there is room to turn the strips without interfering with cutting.
