Software support expiry date

 

The month and year in which the current support for the program expires for this licence

 

The licence (security key) includes a software support expiry date. This is shown on the splash screen when the program starts and at the ‘About box’ (Main screen – Help – About). It typically shows the month and year the software support finishes.

The software support provided is set by your distributor and included in the licence when the software is purchased or support renewed. The support finishes at the end of the month listed on the licence.

 

Typically many users maintain their support on an annual basis as this gives access to the latest updates and allows them move to the latest major version when it is released.

 

If support is not maintained later updates are not available and do not run under the current licence (this does not affect the running of the versions and updates covered by the current licence).

 

Software support reminders

 

Towards the end of the software support period a reminder message is shown when the program starts.

Software support renewal

 

Contact your distributor to renew support.

 

When renewal is purchased you receive (via Email etc.) a ‘licence update file’ which is a secure encrypted file which can be used to update the licence (security key). This is a physical change to the security key.

 

There is an option on the Help menu to upgrade the licence (Main screen – Help – Upgrade security key)

Program does not run

 

It is unlikely the software does not have a valid software support expiry date – but if this is missing or damaged in some way the program does NOT run.
